Relative to sharing the story of “I Hinanao-Ta (Our Journey)” and commemorating the history of Guåhan from our CHamoru perspective on the 500th Anniversary of the Circumnavigation of the World, and to further expressing Un Dångkulu Na Si Yu’os Ma’åse’ for the resiliency, vitality, and unwavering nature of our CHamoru culture, as well as the will and intent of the People of Guåhan in “Konsigi I Hinanao-ta” (Continuing Our Journey) of sharing the story of Guåhan from our CHamoru perspective.

Relative to recognizing the observance of Women’s History Month during the month of March 2021 as a time to celebrate the achievements and vision of women whose work paved the way towards a world free of inequality and violence; and commending the great women of Guam whose historical contributions and achievements continue to pave the way toward progress and success for all.

Relative to recognizing 2021 as “Mes CHamoru”; to observing Silibrasion Gupot CHamoru (CHamoru celebration); and to further commending the CHamoru Studies and Special Projects Division of the Guam Department of Education, I Kumisión i Fino’ CHamoru, the Department of CHamoru Affairs, the Guam Council on the Arts and Humanities Agency, the Guam Community College, the University of Guam, the Guam State Historic Preservation Office, the Guam Preservation Trust, and all the Guam’s government and community organizations for their collaborative efforts to ensure the preservation and perpetuation of the CHamoru language, culture, and heritage.

Relative to congratulating Dr. Katherine M. Wood on the occasion of her retirement after dedicating thirty (30) years to the nursing profession and educating Guam’s local nurse force; and to further recognizing and commending her for her service to the people of Guam and contributions to the University of Guam and the nursing profession in Guam and the Micronesian region

Resolution No. 28-36 (COR) - Amanda L. Shelton

Relative to recognizing the University of Guam (UOG) students, alumni, faculty, staff, and administration on the occasion of UOG Charter Month during the month of March 2021 and the celebration of the fifty-third (53rd) year anniversary of the UOG Charter, and the sixty-ninth (69th) year anniversary of its founding; and further commending the 2021 UOG Charter Day Committee for their continued efforts to invest in and strengthen the institution for the benefit of our people, our island, the region, and the world.

Relative to congratulating Ms. Angelica Pereira on the occasion of retirement after dedicating twenty-eight (28) years of service to the people of Guam; and to further recognizing and commending her for her contributions at the Department of Youth Affairs.

Relative to recognizing Ms. Esther Anne T. Leon Guerrero on her retirement in the Department of Public Health and Social Services; and to further extend a sincere Un Dångkolo Na Si Yu’os Ma’åse’ for her 38 years of service to the Government of Guam and our island

Relative to recognizing and commending the Engineers, Architects, and Land Surveyors of our island community on the celebration of “Engineers, Architects, and Land Surveyors Week” from February 21-27, 2021, with this year’s theme: “Imagining Tomorrow”; and to further expressing Un Dångkolo Na Si Yu'os Ma'åse' to them for making a difference in our world and improving the quality of life for all our people, and for their tremendous contributions to the local community, industry, and society.
