Relative to recognizing and honoring the men and women of the United States Marine Corps on the celebration of the U.S. Marine Corps’ Two Hundred Forty-First (241st) Year Anniversary on November 10, 2016; to commending them for their selfless contributions of outstanding service to Guam and the nation in the defense of freedom for over two (2) centuries; and to further extending Un Dångkolo Na Si Yu'os Ma'åse' to the U.S. Marine Corps and its dedicated members, active and retired, for their continued service to our island and country. Relative to acknowledging and recognizing Emilio Aldan Ayuyu, "Yo'Åmte" for his commitment and dedication to the Haya Foundation in its mission to protect, preserve, perpetuate, and promote our Traditional Healing Practice; and to further extending an Un Dangkolo Na Si Yu'os Ma'ase' to him for guiding, teaching and documenting his knowledge and skills for future and aspiring traditional medical practitioners to carry on this cultural tradition. Relative to recognizing the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Districts of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Guam Police Department (GPD) on the first-ever designation of “National Community Policing Week” from October 2 to October 8, 2016; and to further commending them for advocating stronger bonds and building trust between our local law enforcement agencies and the community they dedicate their lives to protect and serve. Relative to recognizing and commending the members of the 2016 “Red Ribbon Campaign” Committee for their outstanding commitment and leadership in taking a pro-active stance against drug and alcohol abuse, on the occasion of “Red Ribbon Month” during the month of October 2016; and to extending Un Dångkolo Na Si Yu’os Ma’ase’ to these individuals and organizations for the significant contributions they have made, and continue to make, to eliminate drug and alcohol abuse on the island of Guam; and to further encouraging the people of Guam to embrace this year’s theme: “YOLO. Relative to recognizing and commending the Korean Association of Guam on the celebration of their Annual Korean Thanksgiving Day – known as “Chuseok” a major harvest festival and significant family gathering event; and to further extending Un Dångkolo Na Si Yu'os Ma'åse' to them for the tremendous public service they provide to the island community. Relative to recognizing and honoring the uniformed and civilian personnel of the Guam Department of Corrections (DOC) for their dedication and commitment to fulfilling the essential role of securing the safety of our island and reforming our island’s offenders, and paying tribute to these hard working employees as they celebrate the occasion of “Corrections Week 2016” from August 7 to August 13, 2016; and to further extending Un Dångkolo Na Si Yuʹos Maʹåseʹ to the staff of DOC for their service.
